The Interior Design Show is on starting today, Thursday January 23 until Sunday, January 26. Over 300 exhibitors are displaying what’s new and notable in the world of design.
Tonight (Thursday) is the Opening Night Party where you can visit the exhibitor booths while sipping wine, eating yummy food and catching up with friends. Friday is Trade Day (for those in the design business) where you can listen to some dynamic speakers. Saturday and Sunday are open to the public. Go here to purchase tickets.
Sunday is “House & Home Sunday” where there will be design talks with people from the magazine and others including Sarah Richardson. You can read a recent interview with Sarah here. I love when she says “In an age when people are obsessed with getting the look for less, sometimes consumers short change themselves and just get… less. Buying quality and investing in authentic design never disappoints.” Hear hear Sarah!
I have already seen (and have many samples of ) Sarah’s fabric collection with Kravet, but if you haven’t you must visit her booth to see them in person yourself.
I’m also looking forward to seeing the inventive designs at Studio North. Always a highlight of the show for me.
The Aerin Lauder collection at the Cocoon booth is a definite must-see. PS If you have never been to Cocoon, you should visit as it is open to the public. Their huge showroom is filled with the beautiful and pretty and I love taking clients there. Or call me and I’ll go shopping with you!
I’m looking forward to seeing what’s on display at designboom mart where emerging designers from around the world showcase items such as jewellery, small furniture items and lighting objects to name a few. I bought a few items there last year.
You can read my past posts here but as a designer, I have been an attendee years before I even had this blog. (I didn’t attend in 2012 due to my Disney trip.)
If you are thinking of renovating, decorating or want to be inspired, head on over to IDS this weekend. Follow me on Instagram as I will be sharing finds and photos from the party tonight. Hope to see you there!
Enjoy the rest of the week!
